"Flight Lieutenant Siddharth Yadav: A Braveheart Who Sacrificed for the Nation"

Pilot Who Died in Gujarat Crash Was Engaged 10 Days Ago, Wedding Was Set for November

A Jaguar fighter jet of the Indian Air Force crashed near Jamnagar, Gujarat, on Wednesday night during a routine training sortie. The crash claimed the life of 28-year-old Flight Lieutenant Siddharth Yadav, a pilot from Rewari, Haryana.

A Heroic Final Act

Siddharth and his co-pilot encountered a technical malfunction mid-air. They managed to steer the aircraft away from densely populated areas, ensuring that no civilian casualties occurred. His co-pilot ejected safely and is currently undergoing treatment, but Siddharth tragically lost his life.

The crash took place around 9:30 PM in Suvarda village, approximately 12 km from Jamnagar city. Eyewitnesses reported that the aircraft caught fire upon impact, scattering debris across the field. Local residents rushed to the site and informed authorities.

A Family with a Legacy of Military Service

Siddharth came from a family with a long tradition of serving in the armed forces. His great-grandfather was part of the Bengal Engineers during British rule, his grandfather served in the paramilitary forces, and his father was in the Indian Air Force before later joining LIC. Siddharth was the fourth generation in his family to serve the nation.

After passing the NDA exam in 2016, he underwent rigorous training for three years before becoming a fighter pilot. He was promoted to Flight Lieutenant after two years of service.

Just ten days before the crash, on March 23, Siddharth got engaged. His wedding was planned for November 2. He had recently returned to duty on March 31 after spending time with his family in Rewari.

Family’s Emotional Tribute

Siddharth’s father, Sujeet Yadav, expressed his grief, recalling his son’s lifelong dream of flying.

“He was an exceptional student. We were always proud of him. My father and grandfather served in the armed forces, and so did I. My son followed the same path and gave his life for the country. I am proud, but also heartbroken, as he was my only son," he said.

Final Farewell with Military Honors

Siddharth Yadav’s mortal remains are expected to arrive in Rewari on Friday morning. His last rites will be conducted in his ancestral village, Bhalaki-Majra, with full military honors.
